Terms of Service

Last updated: June 2026

1. Welcome to Retick

Thanks for using Retick! These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a contract between you and Retick, Inc. ("Retick," "we," "us"). By creating an account or using our website and services (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

You must be at least 16 years old to use Retick. If you're using Retick for a company or organization, you confirm you have the authority to agree to these Terms on their behalf.

2. What Retick Does

Retick is an AI-powered platform that helps you turn UI/UX review videos into structured, developer-ready tickets. Here's how it works:

  • You upload a video where you recorded yourself reviewing a user interface.
  • Our AI watches your video, listens to your commentary, and extracts the issues you identified.
  • You review the extracted issues, make edits if needed, and export them to Jira or Linear.

The AI's output is a suggestion — it's your responsibility to review and verify the issues before acting on them or sharing them with your team.

3. Your Account

You sign in using Google, GitHub, or Microsoft. You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for everything that happens under your account. If you think someone else has accessed your account, let us know right away at support@retick.io.

You must provide accurate information when creating your account. Don't impersonate anyone or create accounts for spam or abuse.

4. What You Can and Can't Do

You can:

  • Upload review videos you own or have permission to use.
  • Use the Service to extract, review, and export issues.
  • Share exported tickets with your team through your project management tools.

You can't:

  • Upload content you don't own or have permission to use.
  • Upload anything illegal, harmful, or containing malware.
  • Try to hack, reverse-engineer, or disrupt the Service.
  • Use the Service to build a competing product.
  • Resell or redistribute the Service without our permission.
  • Send spam or unsolicited messages through the Service.

If you break these rules, we may suspend or terminate your account. We'll try to warn you first unless the violation is serious.

5. AI Processing — How We Handle Your Videos

When you upload a video to Retick, here's exactly what happens:

  1. Your video is stored securely in Google Cloud Storage.
  2. We extract still frames (keyframes) from your video at regular intervals.
  3. Those keyframes, along with a transcript of your audio, are sent to a third-party AI provider (such as OpenAI) for analysis.
  4. The AI provider processes this data to identify UI/UX issues and returns structured results.
  5. We do not send your full video file to the AI provider — only extracted keyframes and transcript text.
  6. The AI provider is contractually bound not to use your data to train their models.

6. Your Content and Intellectual Property

You keep ownership of everything you upload. Your videos, the issues extracted from them, and any edits you make are yours. We don't claim any ownership over your content.

We own the Service itself. This includes our code, AI prompts and pipeline, website design, logos, and brand. You don't get any rights to these beyond using the Service as described in these Terms.

If you give us feedback or suggestions about Retick, we can use that feedback without paying you or asking permission. We appreciate your input!

7. Third-Party Services

Retick connects to services you already use, like Jira, Linear, and Google/Microsoft/GitHub for sign-in. Each of these services has its own terms and privacy practices. When you connect them to Retick, you're also agreeing to their terms. We're not responsible for what those third-party services do.

8. Payment and Plans

Retick offers both free and paid plans. If you choose a paid plan:

  • You agree to pay the fees listed on our pricing page.
  • Fees are charged in advance on a monthly or annual basis, depending on your plan.
  • You can cancel anytime — your access continues until the end of the current billing period.
  • We don't offer refunds for partial months, but we'll consider refund requests on a case-by-case basis.

9. Limitation of Liability

We work hard to make Retick reliable, but we provide it "as is" — without any warranties. Here's what that means in plain language:

  • We're not responsible if the AI misses issues or makes mistakes. Always review AI output before acting on it.
  • We're not liable for any damages or losses from your use of the Service, including lost profits, data loss, or business interruption.
  • If something goes wrong, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the issue, or $100 if you're on a free plan.

10. Ending Your Account

You can leave anytime. You can delete your account through your account settings. When you do, your data enters a 30-day grace period (soft delete). During this time you can recover your account if you change your mind. After 30 days, your data is permanently deleted.

We can also end your account if you violate these Terms or if we decide to discontinue the Service. If we discontinue the Service, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice and a chance to export your data.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you by email or through the Service at least 30 days before the changes take effect. If you keep using Retick after the changes, you're agreeing to the updated Terms. If you don't agree, you can delete your account.
