Human-led exploratory review

Turn exploratory UI observations into reviewable reports

Keep observed evidence, expected behavior, and untested coverage visible throughout the handoff.

From session evidence to useful reports

A clear test charter

Bound the review so one captured session does not imply coverage of every state or environment.

Evidence-aware defect reports

Distinguish a visible status problem from an operation failure that needs separate technical confirmation.

Honest release evidence

Record the repaired scenario and remaining coverage without treating media analysis as a testing certificate.

Give the exploratory session a charter

Choose a question such as whether a failed upload leaves a recoverable interface. Name the tested build, account role, and input conditions before the session. An exploratory recording documents what happened in that session; it is not evidence that every browser, file size, or recovery path has been covered. Keep the test charter and untested conditions in your normal QA record.

Capture the decisive sequence

Show file selection, the visible failure, the retry action, and the resulting state using harmless test material. Review the media in Retick and check the proposed findings against the timeline. A missing progress indicator is not necessarily a failed upload. Correct any claim that exceeds the visible evidence, and collect logs or network information separately when needed.

Write a report another tester can use

Describe the initial state, triggering action, observed result, and expected recovery. Ask product to resolve whether retry should preserve the selected file if that requirement is unclear. Review the issue before exporting selected work to Trello or downloading a file. Keep a functional failure distinct from confusing copy when each requires different acceptance criteria.

Verify the repair and record coverage honestly

Repeat the scenario on the intended fixed build and inspect neighboring success and cancellation states. Record which conditions passed and which remain untested. Retick's media analysis does not execute exploratory sessions, generate a complete test suite, or certify release readiness. Use your test management and automation tools for execution records, regression coverage, and any formal QA gate your team requires.

Review the decisive exploratory finding

Bring the relevant sequence, not an implied coverage claim.
