Design review+ Retick

Build a Trello backlog from approved design findings

Capture the running interface and keep design intent accountable before creating work.

Discussion is not approved scope

A design conversation can mix clipped text, inconsistent patterns, and new ideas that nobody has approved. Turning every comment into a card creates accidental scope. Retick helps analyze screenshots and recordings of the implemented interface. A designer or product owner still needs to distinguish defects from proposals and approve the intended outcome before findings move to Trello.

From implemented design to deliberate card creation

1

Capture the current implementation

Review a defined area such as account invitations. Capture the dialog, role explanation, validation, and completion state using representative test data. Identify the reviewed build and supply the intended design context yourself. This workflow uses screenshots and recordings; it does not claim to ingest design files or compare underlying design components automatically.

2

Resolve design decisions first

Inspect each candidate finding against the media. Separate an unreadable role explanation from a proposal to redesign onboarding. Ask the responsible owner to approve the desired text or layout rather than treating generated wording as authority. Keep unanswered questions out of tasks that imply the implementation requirement has already been agreed.

3

Choose a Trello board and list

For selected findings in an individual review, choose Trello, connect a permitted account, and select an available destination. Preview each issue and confirm that its acceptance criteria name the affected state. Create only the approved cards. Access failures and unavailable lists require attention; exporting is not a guarantee that every requested card will be created.

4

Inspect the handoff and revisit the UI

Check the resulting cards for readable descriptions and appropriate evidence. Agree on ownership, dependencies, and scheduling in your team's planning process. After development, have the design owner compare the updated screen with the accepted outcome, including long text and error states. Card creation does not certify visual correctness, accessibility, or completion of the requested change.

Keep the decision beside the evidence

Approved intent

Make it clear which observations are decisions and which remain proposals, so informal discussion does not become accidental engineering scope.

Current-build evidence

Give the receiving developer visual context from the implemented screen rather than relying on memory of a meeting or an unnamed reference.

Reviewable outcomes

Describe a concrete result the design owner can inspect, while leaving scheduling and technical approach to the responsible team.

Design handoff questions

Does this compare a design file automatically?▼

No. Supply the intended design context manually and have its owner confirm the discrepancy in the captured implementation.

Must every finding become a card?▼

No. Review findings as drafts. Some are intentional variations, open questions, or ideas that have not been approved for implementation.

Does export certify the design?▼

No. Verify the changed interface directly. Use dedicated functional and accessibility testing where those checks are required.

Review the design before building the backlog

Turn approved observations into understandable Trello cards.
